Glynn Kalara said...: Trump is basically running his whole campaign on scapegoating. He saying, there's nothing wrong with our country if we can just get rid of these people ( pick a group.) It's the classic tactic of a demagogue. It works, because people don't want to look any deeper at society or at themselves. After the Civil War the white leadership of the South pointed at the ex-slaves and said, they're the ones to blame for your misery. Many of us know what followed, for over 100 yrs. even today that stigma holds sway. Today it's other groups plus blacks that are being scapegoated. The tactic especially works on people that grow up feeling they are somehow entitled to a certain place in society just because their group was always on top. Trump plays to this and it's working for the moment.; 1:14 PM
Jim Sande said...: The thing that becomes clearer and clearer about Trump is that he believes the stuff he says. He's had such a pampered life that no one has ever said to him, you're full of shit, you need to work this out a little bit better there buddy. He's evolved into this very stuck mean spirited narcissistic guy who truly believes he is a superior being and that every thought he has is an act of grace, or of ultimate wisdom. If he wins it will be fascinating to watch someone who has no saving virtues at all.; 5:27 PM
