MSNBC: North Carolina’s voter ID law on trial
Rosanell Eaton, a 94-year old African-American woman who was made to recite the preamble to the U.S. Constitution to vote under Jim Crow, testified via video Monday that, because her name was spelled differently on different documents, she had to take 10 separate trips to various state offices in order to get an ID that complies with the law. Sylvia Kent described a similarly frustrating process in trying to get IDs for her two elderly disabled sisters.

The GOP cannot win elections fairly anymore , so it's set upon a course to restrict voting rights and shrink the pool of possible voters. ID laws among other laws are just the beginning. Ultimately, control of the black box computers we vote into is their ultimate back stop when necessary. We need to return to paper ballots like in Canada , India and other democracies. As for the neo-Jim Crow laws the GOP is cooking up this needs to be dealt with head on.
The good news is that they are getting a lot of push back. Lots of people are looking at this and are challenging it's legitimacy. That won't stop them from continuing to try to instill these voter ID laws because the Kochs and such have the money and the power.
