Global Warming - The Amazon

Terrible news, this is bad.

Wired: Global Warming Is Already Clobbering the Amazon
Every year, the world’s largest rainforest cycles through 18 billion tons of carbon per year as its 6 million square kilometers of trees breathe in carbon dioxide and release it back into the atmosphere when they die. That’s more than twice as much carbon as fossil fuels emit all over the world. Mess with this system and the consequences will reverberate around the world.

Take away the oceans as they are warming, take away the arctic and antarctic which reflect heat back out to space, and take away the Amazon - I'd say we have a little problem on our hands that nobody wants to fess up to.
