The Market On Friday

Good morning. It is 62 degrees and sunny here in the Upper Hudson Valley. It looks like we are in for a beautiful day in this area, not too hot and not too humid yet sunny. We are reading about another horrible plain crash this time over Mali. I believe this is the third major crash in the last week. It's a difficult thing to think about.

At 8:45 a.m. ET DOW futures are slightly lower and the price of oil per barrel is down. The market is poised to open lower.

What can we say, the morning reads like a blah period for investors. Poor results from Amazon, and how can that be considering I alone am always buying books and such from them, sanctions by the EU on Russia/Ukraine, another airliner down, continued M.E. misery...Fortunately the weekend is almost here and we can calmly put these things out of the mind and be content.

Shares of Amazon fell nearly 10% in premarket trading after the company posted a larger than expected loss.

Time is running out for Argentina to avoid defaulting on its debt...
