Russia, now there's a real democracy LOL! Norm doesn't do himself any service speaking on Fascist Russia TV. What does he think Putin is? Whatever. He's right about the Tea Party , but it pisses me off that PROF. C smacks every small business person in the face when he says with utter contempt that the Tea party base is petit Bourgeois shop keepers. I heard a Marxist Prof. of mine once give that exact speech and it forever turned me off to Marxists. I was a Petite B. shop keeper as are many on the left. The truth is the tea party ranks are filled with right wing workers who are so fucking dumb they vote consistently vote against their own self interest, mainly because they're racists or religious nut jobs/fundies. Norm has their base wrong because he hates anything or anyone associated with business or capitalism as he sees it. Fucking Engels who co- wrote the Communist Manifesto was a wealthy German Industrialist and Norm knows that. I hate the intellectual left in this country, stuck up University Profs. that live in an Ivory tower and look down on the rest of us as if were scum. They're as bad as the right wing Corp. assholes that do the same. Both groups can go to hell.

It's striking that some of the more radical analysis of American politics comes from these "Russian" titled sources, isn't it. Chomsky has my total respect, he's a walking encyclopedia and then some. Purely from a fan's point of view, I find that to be amazing. What little I've read of Marxism, I found it to be an interesting critique of capitalism. Beyond that it's all a moot point as we live in a corporate based capitalist plutocracy with a few democratic highlights, no amount of critique is going to change that. It strikes me that the Tea Party's role is basically to enhance our plutocracy and eliminate the democratic highlights. They certainly have succeeded in doing that too, as Chomsky points out how the election gerrymandering has thrown power into the hands of the few. I think the Tea Party is headed by the few billionaires as we know and it's base is mixed. I know several and they are educated and have wealth. I would suspect the billionaire backers are laughing their asses off at the mess the Tea Party congress has made. You have the head of the beast out for deregulation, no taxes, eliminating minimum wages, eliminating health insurance, etc etc and you have the base in many cases utterly inarticulate and furious about a less than accurately understood agenda. Putting it kindly. For me the clip is a mix indeed, but Chomsky has a way of articulating the chemicals in our political stew that is pretty unique.
