Global Warming - Ezra Klein Interviews Al Gore

WaPo: Al Gore explains why he’s optimistic about stopping global warming
"A lot of Republicans have shared with me privately their growing discomfort with the statements of some of the deniers in their ranks. Even though they’re not yet willing to come back to advocate constructive policies, there is definitely movement."

Really Al? So a few of Al's GOP pals have finally had an epiphany and that means all is well? Hardly. Al thought all was going to be well after Dec. 12th 2000, so much for his opinion.

Gore thinks that the political undercurrent is shifting in this country and that pockets of real change are occurring in other countries. Overall, we are still now moving towards 450ppm as you know. Personally I'm very pessimistic about the potential for a turn to the curve as Gore puts it. We just see it every day, big oil will burn every last drop of oil out there, and fracking will continue and expand. Energy shares on Wall Street are at amazing highs and no billionaire worth his weight in diamonds will let go of that. Plus all the power is concentrated in the hands of the elite rich.

That right there is the short story of what I've gleamed from the news with this blog in the last 7-8 years.
