When I first saw this I thought, what's the big deal, if you want a two dimensional image of anything take a picture of it. The difference here is that the 3D scanner is used in conjunction with a 3D printer. You get the scanned image, manipulate it, and pass on the new file to the 3D printer. Take a 3D scan of a horse statue, change the horse's head to GWB, and let the 3D printer make your new art piece.
