The Market On Thursday

Good morning. It is 14 degrees and sunny here in Upstate NY. Yes that is a rather low number and we are promised a temperature boost later in the day. Spring seems to be getting off to a regressive start. We can handle it because we are sturdy and of good stock plus the Knicks won last night, so we are emotionally appeased.

At 7:40 a.m. futures are slightly higher and the price of oil per barrel is down. The market is poised to open mixed.

Investors will be parsing a boat load of economic data on the US economy including data on the housing market, initial weekly unemployment claims, and other business activity. Cyprus looms in the background along with the sweet sounds of Bernanke's promise to quantitatively ease our long ongoing economic recovery.
