It's just the nature of the human mind. The climate is changing and we are responsible this time. However, because of the way this change is happening most people will never really understand or even accept it. Part of the reason is because we are very good at adaptation and even those that believe it's happening believe we'll be able to adapt our way out of it's worst consequences. Sadly, if the worse case scenarios ( like massive methane releases in the seas etc.) happen that isn't going to be the case. I think, because we are a relatively young species as far as the planet is concerned we simply don't have the experience with how badly things can go wrong and how quickly this can happen. Hope is the last thing that dies.

With Keystone's approval they clearly want to bring it on. The doors are open to continue and accelerate business as usual.
