With gas prices rising as I write this at 10 cents a week and UI going north Obama has is the one with problems. Romney a complete empty suit is gliding on the lousy stats.

I think the GOTP flubbed the RNC a bit because Romney should realistically be way ahead in the polls after the RNC. Right now he should have a 2 to 4 point lead over Obama and he doesn't. They messed up, they didn't pull it off correctly. In spite of all that I still believe Romney wins as I said. This country has too many recent precedents that would indicate that a fatally flawed candidate like Romney can and will win. Here's what happens, Romney wins, he rides on the Obama administration modest economic improvements, there a little bubble in some sector (I will start thinking about which - but I would suspect intricate Wall Street financial "instruments" possibly a huge banking scandal Ala Bush 1, then a crash, a severe crash with calls for more austerity, higher unemployment, more deterioration Ala Camden and the rust belt, all this occurs while America bombs the shit out of Iran entering another unwinnable and drawn out mess - it will equal Iraq times 3 or 4.

I think you're onto something there. In Reagan/BV$Hworld life is a roller coaster ride of bubbles and crashes all handed to the passengers to deal with as the general condition of the roller-coaster deteriorates around them. Oh and as it gets warmer and warmer and warmer as well and ONLY those of us born before all of this see it.

Since Reagan, has there been a Republican presidency that has not ended in a deep recession? No. Bush 1 after the Gulf War I had no construction work, totally dried up, Bush 2 - we all know that one. Where there major scandals and bubbles in both - yes. Bush 1 had a monstrous banking scandal naturally involving his brother who walked away with billions. Same with Bush 2 with all that private contractor contracts in Iraq and such.
