Much to do about nothing. Most Reptiles don't even care. Eastwood is a Nat'l hero like John Wayne to most working class whites. Just getting his face up there was a win-win. Look in 2000 they ended their so called convention with a filty tag line from the WWE wrester , who got elected /selected? It's whether or not the media wants him now and they'll do what their bosses say. Obama had 4 yrs. to make the sale for a 2nd term. Now he has 2 mos. to save himself.
I would agree, because ultimately it doesn't change much. It's a momentary theatrical display that causes surprise among the liberals and support from the conservatives. Remember when Reagan was barely coherent in his debates with Dukakis and it didn't matter even at all. Reagan handily won. As a portion of the RNC it's not their finest moment, Eastwood was tongue tied and his mind is not quite as agile as it once was. He didn't really belong there, it was in my mind more poignant and tragic than anything else. One thing that is very surprising to me is that they clearly gave Eastwood the green light to do whatever he wanted, they trusted him without any type of serious vetting or discussion. Now that is very weak and may in the next few months indicate that Romney's team is less than top notch. Say what you will but take away Rove and Bush is nothing. The handlers have great influence, overall Axelrod is superior in the handling of the details. Like I said I believe Romney wins with a one point spread, a GOTP well versed in voter suppression, and Romney has a bigger check to write.
Ed, watch the clip - She doesn't exactly go after Eastwood, she actually gets at the subtext and Romney's handlers who choreographed this Eastwood event. It's fascinating set of circumstances especially in how it completely diverged from the expected script of these showcase events on national TV.

Theres's a lot of criticism of CE's performance but I thought he was pretty funny. No disaster, no meltdown, I thought he did ok.
