I gotta disagree. They all get it wrong. Ryan knows exactly what he's saying and why and so do most Reptiles. The talking tough and making "hard choices" is about coming down hard on the LOSERS and especially among them the powerless poor. These are fascist bully boys that have donned suits and smile buttons and American flags but rip away all the pretense and hype that all they really are. How tough is it to take from people that have nothing much and no power to resist you? Really, these are scary people. These are the kinds of people that would take candy from a baby and smile to themselves for doing it.
There is that essential brutal component to the thing. Dense, willfully ignorant, arrogant, and brutal - it's all there and more.
