Most of these very cheap housing markets are in the rust belt - Michigan, Ohio, Indiana - Great Lake Area. Love to see a revival happen in these places and I bet there are some amazing steals there but its just not somewhere I would want to be...

I did a search on Youngstown Ohio real estate and I was amazed at what $100,000 buys there. Tons of properties for sale, houses at $20 grand, its wild. The economy must be virtually nowhere there, nothing. Its very scary.
