The DOW closed at 12,840 gaining 29 points however the NASDAQ and S&P fell slightly.
Energy stocks took one for the team today. The volatility index rose a bit. All in all investors are in a momentary quandary about the market's direction. One might suspect that on the short term Q1 reports will still remain dominant.

I'm not surprised, now all the war mongers will have to justify why we should be hanging out all over the world looking for this guy. Short defense and get ready for the endless paid for flunkies and shills of these companies and every right wing nut non-think tank to be pumping up the fear to keep the defense glut going.
Good point, it had not even occurred to me to make the link with the military industrials but it certainly makes sense, doesn't it. This country wouldn't know what to do without war. It would be like a fish out of water.
