Pretty cynical old Noam. But he's right, it was always a rigged game from day 1 and meant to be. The founders looked at Monarchy and eliminated it's most egress sins, but they obviously didn't have much use for democracy either. What they wanted and built was a Constitutional Monarchy with an elected King ( AKA a President) and a ruling elite of wealthy landowners ( called Nobles in England etc..) As for the common people , they had little use for the mob. It wasn't till Jackson's time that the idea of a broad based democracy started to catch on. It's had it's run and now were back to a Plutocracy / Polyarchy again.
I am afraid so. I think Chomsky is correct. Its a one party system. All that we have said in the past is true, we try to pick the lesser of two evils. All that can happen is possibly an outbreak of democracy within one's community and possibly not on the political level either.
