Back in the late 70s, I jumped on the vegetarian bandwagon. Over the years, I jumped on and off it a few times, but basically I cut out red meat now to a once every 6 months or so level. If I really want it, what the hell. About two months ago I had a bison burger and it was tasty. Red meat is tasty, but the fat is a killer, it clogs the mechanism. That's not very scientific, let's call it poetic-like advice.
Cereal, lentil soup, sunshine burgers, an occasional omelet, salads with beans and apples, beans and greens, this is the fuel that drives jcsande.blogspot.com...
CNN: Want to live longer? Cut back on red meat
People who eat red meat every day have a higher risk of dying over a 10-year period -- mostly because of cardiovascular disease or cancer --than their peers who eat less red or processed meat, according to a new study of about half a million people.

Haven't had any red meat since 1971. Eat chicken/fish though. Your diet sounds just about right. With all the Industrial pollution though it's still pretty toxic out here. We can thank our corrupt political system for this , as the pols think being an environmentalist is having people arrested for littering. Pollute an entire river no problem just be sure to make a BIG campaign contribution first.
Its true, a good diet is one thing but its hard to overlook the effects of environmental pollution especially on our health. We need good health inside and out.
What we have is corruption within and without and a mass of empty talk and platitudes. My endless fight against so called beach replenishment sheds light on how phony the whole so called environmental movement has become in some qtrs. It's a prime example of how a movement with the best of intentions has been turned on it's head by the greedy few.
