I think Prof. Reich is confusing the phony political stances the GOP farts about when it's trying to act as the Conservative party and the reality that the party is nothing more then a collection of Corp. and Russian owned shills and minor employees of Oligarchs. Its positions on issues are just so much noise changed by the minute meaning NOTHING. Reich makes more of this then he should. He forgets FOX and the rest of the right wing media is like the State media in Orwell's 1984. Today Oceania is at War with Eastasia and the next day they are its greatest of friends and allies. We're not at the end of oligarchy, we're probably just at the beginning. Every election is telling.
