The Market On Monday

Good morning. It is partly cloudy and 63 degrees here in the Upper Hudson Valley, the forecast predicts a partly cloudy day with temperatures in the 80s this afternoon. The eclipse is today. In New York we will see a partial eclipse and it will get dark.

At 8:20 a.m. ET DOW futures are -5 and the price of oil per barrel is up. The market is poised to open in the slightly below flat area.

Trump has lost virtually all semblance of what we call moral authority. He probably never had any to begin with. The problem is, we now have a president whom the majority of Americans regard as a bad person who carries no weight. Trump cannot inspire the country. He can certainly charge up the racists, he does that just fine, but the racists are in the minority. This is a very weak ineffective inept president and he needs to go.
