He might have ONLY met with his Russian pals and partners four times IN PERSON, but that doesn't tell us about all the electronic and courier traffic between him and them does it?

As he's on defense he's trying to shine a light on his desired innocence. His lawyers parse it to make him look innocent. He's clearly not going to come out now and throw himself on the mercy of a committee. He's trying to gain some momentum. It's about political imagery, not the truth.
