Of course, he's lying. he pre-approved such a meeting precisely so he could have future plausible deniability made sure he was up stairs. You can bet Don Jr. had to then go face to face with his Dad in a secure area to give a detailed report and show that folder the lawyer brought. They proceeded from there to cooperate and coordinate with Putin et al. and in parallel trying to cover it all up. The Intell. services though were watching all off of it. The plan was to have sessions there to crush any investigations afterward. However, things went south when Flynn got caught lying on his forms and they had to fire him. Then it all started to unravel and here we are at this juncture where everyone soon will see all the moving parts. Even now though they are claiming or trying to claim they did NOTHING illegal. We'll see about that if Mueller survives. There's a much better chance of that happening now.

I would suspect people connected with Trump like Flynn, are afraid of penalties. On the other side, the FBI is skilled in getting people to talk. Also, Trump and company seem like a bunch of amateurs. Would you pick Junior or Kushner to be involved with running your treasonous major world power scheme? Can you just imagine these idiots sitting around high fiving each other with insane hubris saying shit like - sure let's go for it, no one will ever believe it, it's like a movie plot. This all adds up to Mueller being able to apply serious leverage to get the truth out. Trump and company at least recognize this because they are lawyered up and even trying to run a disinformation program vis a vis Hannity, their lawyers on TV, and that ilk, to strike back with what's the big deal anyhow. That's their defense, an attack offense, which is so Trump.
