The Market On Tuesday

Good morning. It is 33 degrees and drizzly here in the Upper Hudson Valley. It looks like rain over the next two or three days. Running late today, so I will jump to the stock market without the chit chat.

At 9:15 a.m. ET futures are up and the price of oil per barrel is down. The market is poised to open higher.

Judging by global stocks it looks like the market could be in for a reasonable day. It appears that investors are pleased with good banking activity in England and good gambling activity in Hong Kong. I am interested in hearing what the upcoming OPEC meeting will produce, how will oil figure into our world after it is so clear that carbon emissions must stop and that we can't burn up all the oil that is in the ground no matter what Trump says.

Nearly all Asian markets ended the day with significant gains. The main Australian index led the pack higher with a 1.8% jump.
