My one wish is that 2015 brings you a lot of happiness. I'll be back on Friday and we'll resume chipping away at a few rugged angles that our amazing world presents. Jim

Let's discuss how to cultivate and practice happiness.

Okay you're on. Where do you suggest we start? I know a lot of stuff about it but it's mostly in the range of Buddhism and I've tried to keep that off the blog, but I can change - perhaps have a regular article devoted to happiness? There's material stuff like food, exercise, breathing, EFT, etc, and then there's mental practices like meditation and meditation's many many aspects.

All suggestions sound good. But I think that I need to start with an exploration of the question: "what is happiness?"

I've been practicing and teaching Wu style T'ai Chi Chuan for 24 yrs. I highly recommend it. Does it make me happy? It certainly reduces stress and calms me. I would say it makes me less unhappy at times. The mindful state that it promotes coupled with the coordinated breathing and moving energy it increases are all deeply relaxing. So, I guess it does create a kind of happiness, as ones progresses their is a feeling of accomplishment that is like being happy, although I never labeled it as such.
