No offense but why does everyone on the Left seem to want to endlessly bash Israel when they plant a tree in the wrong place but where is the concern for thousands being killed in Syria by Arab on Arab conflict? It seems the only thing going on in the ME that pisses off a section of the left is whatever Israel is doing that they feel is wrong. Sadly, many western Leftists and Liberals would prefer if Israel didn't even exist and its very existence pisses them off. On the other hand what the Arabs do to each other is just considered "normal" behavior NP. It's a disturbing double standard that to a Jew smells suspiciously like a kind of cloaked Anti-semitism. I've even been thrown off of and banned from many left websites and blogs lately for defending Israel or Jews.

In truth when I go to a sight like TRNN looking for material for the blog, I look for something that resonates with what I am viewing in the news, unless its art or music related. In that case I usually only go with what I like. Israel is always in the news, and right now today's big headline is how Israel will not notify the US when they attack Iran. Who the hell knows what this means at the deepest levels of government because obviously there are many levels. A clip like this one has relevance because it simply reveals some kind of information about a very relevant place. When Israel bombs Iran the implications throughout the world will be very significant. I don't know a lot about Israel but I do know that they have their right wing overly reactive types too. Plenty of Israelis went through the same US education as the American neocons have gone through. They share the same goals. I find that to be dangerous as I find the neocons to be dangerous. Fundamentally it all boils down to the same things, money, power, greed in the sense of a policy that will benefit the instigators of the policy only. Many neocons made out really well in the Iraq debacle. The overall result has been misery for everyone else. The ordinary people get pulled along according to the level and success of the propaganda. Just like the way our sheeple willfully go against their own interests daily.
Now personally, I support Israel. I wish I could actually see it sometime. It seems like a very interesting place. I would like to see Israel be an amazing place of strong democratic activity. They have internal struggles. There is an intense right wing element and a liberal element in Israel.
Don't worry when I post something about Israel, its not done out of contempt for the Israelis or anything like that at all. This story on the clip in itself is hidden and unknown to virtually 99.9% of the population so that alone is an interest to me.

I wasn't condeming you for posting this. I don't want Israel to attack Iran or vice a versa but, I have Israeli friends that I stay in touch with and things look a whole lot different when you and your family live within missile range of millions of people that actively wish you harm or worse. By the way Israel is still offically at War with Iraq, Lebanon and Syria. Ironically its not at War with Iran, yet. Let's keep in mind the FACTS here. Iran is the one sending thousands of ballistic missiles to Hezbollah to be used to attack and kill people and destroy property in Israel proper and has already done this in a recent mini-War a few yrs. ago. Iran's leadership is the one telling anyone who will listen it eventually intends to eliminate the "Zionist entity" as it calls Israel. Israel, doesn't ever call for the elimination ( a word meaning Genocide to all Jews) of all Persians ( Iranians.) How would we react if Venezuela sent missiles to Mexico and Mexico allowed a terrorists group on the border to fire them into San Diego or Texas etc.? Right! We both know Mexico and maybe even Venezuela would catch hell from us immediately.

I wen tot listen to the Dalai Lama who was in town here back in 2009.

He spoke about the hard right Chinese leaders who are basically maintaining a policy of completely fucking over Tibet and the Tibetan people. Talk about gross imperialism, China taking over Tibet is a major travesty with no end in sight.

The Dalia lama said that in China there are people within the government that he has spoken with who actually support the position of the Dalai Lama. These Chinese leaders are expressing their personal view to the Dalai Lama that they believe Tibet should have autonomy. However, these same people cannot say what they believe to be true personally, they can't say these things publicly. They would be in serious trouble.

My point is that one must suspect that within places like Iran and Palestine that there are some people, couldn't put a number on it, who believe enough is enough. Let Israel exist in peace, let's drop the "elimination" rhetoric, let's act like this is humanity not inhumanity. Let's figure this thing out properly. I would suspect these same people are in fear of expressing that sentiment publicly. In fact, these positions that are more realistic and positive are more present than we are led to believe. It just has to be. Somewhere out there, there are wiser people.
