Just watched this on Netflix. Old school bitter cold classical pianist sadistically teaches and maintains an isolated dark sexual inner world till she meets a young handsome equal. In French with subtitles and lots of kink, I would call it a psycho-sexual drama. Interesting if you can get into the drama, the kink alone is compelling.

Thanks fr pointing him out to me Ed, I did not know his name nor was I familiar with his body of work.
Looking through his movies, we liked "Code Unknown" and "The White Ribbon" but I don't think I would watch "Funny Games" after checking the trailer. Maybe he has a sadistic streak.
I would see anything with Isabel Huppert, should look up her other movies. I think she is a big star in Europe.
