Higgs Boson Update

Long story short, scientist believe they will determine if the higgs boson, the "god" particle exists or does not exist by the end of 2012.

This research is being conducted at 'The Large Hadron Collider' which is located underground somewhere on the border of France and Switzerland.

The elements for a new generation of Bond-like novels and films all revolve around The Large Hadron Collider - Switzerland, France, wine, chalets, double faced gorgeous women, skiing in the Alps, spies, ungodly weapons, and chocolate.

CS Monitor: God particle, the Higgs boson, could be found in 2012
"I would say we can settle the question, the Shakespearean question — 'to be or not to be' — end of next year..."

It's the linchpin of the Standard Model of particle physics theory that explains the Big Bang...

Physicists also hope the collider will help them see and understand other suspected phenomena, such as dark matter, antimatter and supersymmetry.

...protons and neutrons...are made of quarks and gluons and...there are other forces and particles.
