Inkjet Solar Cells

Now we are talking!

This kind of breakthrough in solar cell production could make solar energy affordable for the average person.

BBC: Scientists use inkjet printing to produce solar cells

I found the following video on youtube about inkjet printing on metal. It is not about making solar cells.

Anything that makes this technology more affordable and easy to use is helpful. However the other less discussed part of the solar equation is still very expensive and tricky to hook up "the inverter".

The price has to come down. When it does, it will become common. Unfortunately we are at the front end of the technology. It needs time to develop. No doubt there are forces that are keeping the brakes on it too.

Actually Solar tech. is pretty mature these days. The costs are not bad for the cells its installing and hooking up these systems and then the financing etc.
