Unemployment D Day

The figures are deep, millions are unemployed, allegedly its 9.7% unemployment but the real percent has to be higher. As we know, people are staying unemployed longer and the job market is very weak.

On Monday March 1st, benefits run out for over 1 million as the Senate's vote to extend unemployment money was stopped by Bunning, hell of a good pitcher and also possibly one of the very worst Senators in US history siding perfectly in defense of the the elite and against entitlements.

Jim Bunning's "tough shit" moment flies into the eye of needed deficit spending.

Some point out that Bunning's one man filibuster will affect the larger obstructionism in the senate.

Senate reform, however, could have no better friend than Bunning. Last year, ending the filibuster was a quixotic blogger obsession. Now it's the subject of a petition by the Senate majority whip. Former Republican majority leader Bill Frist says his colleagues are "overdoing" the filibuster. * 2009 -- Voted AGAINST women by opposing the Ledbetter Act.

* 2009 -- Voted AGAINST children again by opposing S-CHIP.

CNN: Jobless benefits start ending on Sunday

Starting Monday, the jobless will no longer be able to apply for federal unemployment benefits or the COBRA health insurance subsidy.
