You are describing how we think as a people. I think lots of people who this view. Its based on our cultural interest in materialism, what else is it. Its enforced every step of the way, from commercials, to who dates who, to billboards, movies, everything. They say India is a caste society, ours is probably worse because you're never really sure who is looking down their snobby nose at you and for what reason. I am extremely average, average height, weight, European ancestors, everything and I go places where people look at me like a huge turd was just let loose. The only thing one can do is change our own minds, that's about it, right now at least.
