CLASSROOM EXERCISE
How would you define Bonhoeffer's version of stupidity? Work together as a class to devise a definition. What qualities must someone possess, or lack, to be considered stupid as Bonhoeffer describes it. In what type of situation would someone display their stupidity? What can we do to avoid stupidity in today's society? Discuss with your class and let us know in the comments below what they think.

Everyone could use this classroom exercise. The video touches up upon this very important point at 2:00 – 2:20. Having this perspective, I think, is the difference between reaching people or not.

As a general rule, I look at stuff like this as just a piece of a rather large pie. That's why I put this stuff on this blog. It's just another angle, not meant to convey the entirety of our understanding of the human race and all its trials and tribulations. But I appreciate what you're saying.

I think it's much more profound. Nothing conveys the entirety of understanding of the human race, but this distills the current 'us vs. them' into a cohesive behavioral paradigm. Call me naive, but if we were required to do this 'classroom exercise', maybe we could come together a little bit.

It's too bad this guy had to perish just before liberation.
