There's a million ways to chronicle how the Dems don't get it. Actually, what's a scarier implication in this article is that they DO get it, but choose a strategy that allows the appearance of morally superiority. I guess it's better to look like the good guy and lose. It's too bad we lose along with 'em.
It's amazing, and it needs to stop, there is no partisanship. The GOP needs to have the Democrats fail and the GOP has a one point policy i.e. oppose all Democrats, all the time, always. This should be pretty f-ing obvious at this point.
It's been pretty f'ning obvious since Obama was sworn in.
The Dems and GOP are equally calculating. The GOP is just better at following their "mission statement" and perpetuating the "brand". This may sound cynical to you, but I believe it is ultimately designed to keep us separate and tribal. 'Divide and conquer' allows both parties continued access to power at all costs.
There are shifts in emphasis you can point to in our lifetime. 1980 - the start of Reganism is a big one. But both parties pulled their ranks in close in '92 when Ross Perot accidentally cracked the two party system. That threat was extinguished and all of this is to assure there cannot be a viable third party.
