Bannon knows that Mueller is zeroing in on Trumpf's decades-long money laundering schemes paid for with Russian mafia money. Hell, Trump's Casinos were fined over and over for money laundering. He should have had his licenses pulled but he even supposedly bought off The NJ Casino Control Commission somehow. He's openly admitted he paid bribes to get what he wants and now the curtain on his game is about to come down on top of his whole act. Bannon being Bannon is showing Trumpf to can play at his game of retribution and revenge and Donnie doesn't like that turnabout is fair play especially in the worlds of politics and crime.
Trump is unraveling. I just pray that Mueller gets to complete the investigation. If the GOP does nothing about it, that's one thing, but simply to get it out and provide fuel for the resistance would be good. I like the next to last line in the Hollywood Reporter article, it's very telling - "At Mar-a-Lago, just before the new year, a heavily made-up Trump failed to recognize a succession of old friends."
