You gotta wonder why these people seem to hate the poorest and most vulnerable among us? ( who are mostly children, old and disabled people.)
It appears to be a very common type of mental projection made by authoritarians - project onto another human being that thing about yourself that is most frightening or terrifying and do your damnedest to push it away. I always think of Gingrich spending oodles of energy denouncing and ridiculing single black welfare mothers. It was pure blubbery chum for the ravenous racist right and he was relentless with it. We're not talking about people who place a lot of energy on their own state of being beyond thinking that every one of their own thoughts is an act of divinity. Trump is the latest version of this low to no invested energy in self awareness.
