The Market On Monday

Good morning. It is 21 degrees and clear in the early morning here in Upstate NY. The weather logo is representing a large clear sun. I hope you had a good weekend. I'm up early because it takes me a while to readjust to the new time. In some ways I wish we could gain an extra hour every weekend! Last night I watched my NY Knicks get dismantled by Minnesota in the Garden no less, and now my hopes for an interesting season of wins and success for my team are in jeopardy. I may have to readjust my television plans for the Winter.

At 6:40 a.m. ET futures are modestly higher and the price of oil per barrel is down. The market is poised to open in mixed territory with some energy stocks feeling the pinch.

The question on people's minds is rather general, when will this steady run up of equities end. Is the run over or is there still room to move. I wish I had a crystal ball but my own sense is that when Q.E. 3 starts to officially wind down, we will probably see a genuine contraction or correction.
