The Market On Tuesday

Good morning. It is 66 degrees, overcast, and lightly raining here in Upstate NY. The rain continues in this area as the debilitating heat wave spreads in the Southwest and West. The forecast shows some clearing for Upstate NY on the weekend. The reservoir levels are high, several inches above average. My house is built on a gradual slope with the house at the top of the incline and the end of the backyard touching a small stream. The area by the stream is now a swamp, I'm unable to mow the grass because the water is getting ankle deep. That parcel is going to go wild this year becoming a newly evolving mini wetland.

At 8:00 a.m. ET futures are modestly higher and the price of oil per barrel is up. The market is poised to open higher.

July got off to a rousing start in the market with a large gain, the DOW is on the edge of once again passing 15,000. The next important marker will be on Friday as the government releases data on jobs created in June. It appears that the pressure from the worrisome abatement of quantitative easing has lost its immediate intense power.

CNN: Stocks: Momentum continues to build
The major U.S. automakers are set to release monthly sales figures, while the Census Bureau will release data on factory orders at 10 a.m. ET.

...the expectation of a strong June payroll report on Friday.
