Maybe that's where all our money went in 2008. It's now dark matter or dark energy.

Dark matter and dark energy are supposed to comprise 96% of our universe. We only see 4% of the "normal matter" and light. We are seriously in the black...

If 96% of everything is dark matter and dark energy it's only dark to us because we don't have the senses to see or feel or anything it. In fact we might be living on the actual flipside of reality not the other way around.

It feels like that sometimes, doesn't it.

Don't you ever wonder where everyone else is out here? Do we actually exist in an empty ( of life) Universe? If so maybe there's a reason?

No, I think the universe is teaming with life. Here's my theory. It has to do with how long the various systems have developed since the big bang. Some systems are newer, some older. i don't know where our solar system occurs, if we are newer or older but life and technology has developed as we see it now over so many billion years. My idea is that it would take a similar species a similar amount of time to evolve and develop technology. The one set back we had of course was the 1,000 post Jesus Dark Ages where all of the technological advances of the Greeks were banished for religious purity crazed reasons in Europe. So we are about 1000 years behind technologically which is a lot for technology but not much within the time of the universe. So imagine a species on a solar system that came into being a roughly the same time as ours and one might think that they are evolving technological in a way that is similar to ours.

Jim , I hope your right. If your wrong that means were alone in a vast Universe and that seems very strange considering all we know about life at this time.

There's life out there definitely lower forms. Conscious self aware life - that would be only a hope. But I think until we get out there or have the tools that let us explore it from here utterly and completely, why not maintain it as a possibility.

I tend to agree and the odds certainly favor that opinion, however neither of us has any actual proof to back up our opinion. More importantly neither does anyone else.
