Read the article - the rise in temperatures globally has leveled off but it is expected to rise again in the future. The optimism is about the present leveling off.

No it's not. Look at the 2nd chart and you see the trend has been going up now for 112 yrs. , relentlessly up up up. Are their times it goes down , yes but you have to look at the trend not any one specific yr. to make a judgment on temps. Of course there is always some corrupt scientist or academic that will take the Oil company cash to spread the nonsense in that article.
Exactly - the spin is because it's leveling, it must be okay. Not so. The trend as we know is bad and indicates more rising.
