The Market On Monday

Good morning. It is 37 degrees and expected to be sunny later on here in Upstate NY. The weeks are flying by. Why does it seem that time goes by faster and faster as we grow older? I still believe that one's own personal time is the most valuable commodity.

At 7:50 a.m. futures are modestly higher, the dollar is down against all other major world currencies, and the price of oil is down. Right now if I had to make a choice I would guess that the market opens higher with maybe 2 in 5 stocks opening lower.

Investors will be parsing data on manufacturing and construction spending. It's all about maintaining signs that the alleged recovery is on track.

The market will be closed on Friday AKA Good Friday the same day that March's employment numbers come through.

Historically April is a decent month in the stock market but with the DOW poised just above 13,000, how much room to grow is in there anyhow...
