'That's My Guy'

Cleveland.com: Hijacked by the votes of angry white men, the GOP could be primed for disaster: Brent Larkin
Peggy Noonan, the gifted Wall Street Journal columnist and former speechwriter for Ronald Reagan, is beginning to think it might end very badly.

"We could see a great party split in two," she wrote Dec. 31. "That, I think, is what I'm seeing among the Republicans, a slow-motion break."

We can only hope.

It's inevitable unless they change, dramatically change.

They will not change and if they do it will be to move even further into the darkness of the far right where all kinds of nasty beasts and creatures lurk in the deep recesses of the paranoid mind. In such places you'll find camps full of skulls and ovens filled with the ashes of millions. Don't think it's possible here then visit in your mind the Japanese internment camps of WW2 or Andersonville, or ride along on the murderous romps through native America of the US Calvary in the late 19th century or the join the US Marines in the Phillipines during the guerrilla war of the early 20th century we fought against the Moros ( Muslim insurgents). The list of Imperial darkness we've all been implicated in is long and chilling and largely hidden from view in our the history books we choose to give our children. The GOP is the heart and haven of the ethnic cleansers, racial and religious bigots and economic royalists in this country today. Change for it is to be an even deeper gravity well for evil then it already has become. Sadly, we could all be dragged into the moral / ethical black hole it's rapidly becoming, God forbid Trump wins this fall and he's very likely to.

Interesting I was watching Charlie Rose tonight and the entire show was Leonardo DiCaprio talking about climate. Leonardo was very pointed with his remarks about who was responsible for holding up action. The GOP actually gets a lot of heat but you wouldn't know it from the major headlines which attempt to be non partisan. We shall see. I don't think Trump wins the enchilada, he just too mean spirited.
