It needs to drop to ZERO ASAP. Coal is the dirtiest fossil fuel of them all. Whatever is left of it needs to be left in the ground. Fat chance of that happening any time soon. India is building a coal burning plant every month and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.
China still gets about 75% of it's energy from coal. All we can do now is hold onto our hats because the climate has changed. January is traditionally one of the two coldest months around here and so far we've barely gone below 32 degrees. The forecast is relatively moderate too.
