I love this song, it shows that the players have a wider reach than most rock players. The sax player has definitely studied free jazz players like Anthony Braxton perhaps. The singer is some kind of poet laureate, the lyrics by themselves, just reading them, are interesting. The rhythm section knows how minimalism works in the way the B-52s did. It's very smart. I'm not surprised they were one hit wonders. How do you follow that up. Weird that they didn't show, I wonder why.
