Guardian UK: The world is aghast over Trayvon Martin. The US needs to look at itself - The jurors who acquitted George Zimmerman say they acted in strict accordance with US law. That in itself speaks volumes

I think the jurors did act in accord with the law. It's the law that has to be challenged, changed.

The NRA has been pitching the stand your ground nonsense to the states. The state legislators promote it to gain the attention of macho idiot voters.

Which is all normal here in the US, but this is different, this is life or death.

Yes you nailed it on the head so to speak - it's about life and death not some stupid macho NRA fixation.

The Stand your ground laws as we will see over and over again will ONLY be enforced where its in defense of the "right" groups. The only reason Trayvon is dead is because he stood his ground without a gun. Switch around the roles and then tell me who was going to jail. Not one person I've asked that said Trayvon would be free today had he shot Zimmerman. Why? Because they know how it really works in America.

Kudos to John McCain for reconsidering Arizona's law.
