The Market On Tuesday

Good morning. It is 18 degrees and sunny here in Upstate NY. The forecast has the temperature going up into the high 40s later today and we will welcome that. It's been very cold around here lately with a piercing and harsh wind making it feel extremely frigid out. I hope you had the chance to watch Maddow's MSNBC 'Hubris' last night. I hope that the show will become available for online embedding in the near future. Maddow went into the Bush Administration's willful pumped up reasoning for going to war with Iraq. We learn or should we say re-learn about the amazing lying going on right at the very top with Bush and Cheney to get that miserable war in motion. Make no mistake those guys are war criminals of the lowest rung. They knew very well that the information was faulty and they played it like shifty poker players with no oversight. What an ugly period in American history, and the impulse to do it again is still there, make no mistake.

At 7:45 a.m. futures are ever so slightly higher and the price of oil per barrel is down. The market is poised to open mixed to lower.

Allegedly it will be a quiet day which generally means that the ameliorating factor that moves the market is not known at present. Investors will be parsing data on the housing market over the next few days and this will be another big indicator of the direction of our limping economy. The expectation is for positive numbers.
