The Market On Thursday

  Good morning. It is 79 degrees and partly cloudy here in the Upper Hudson Valley. The forecast predicts a partly cloudy day with temperatures in the high 80s this afternoon. We really need a solid few days of rain around here, the grass is starting to brown in spots. Are you on the edge of your seat just waiting to hear who Trump picks to be his Vice hit man President. I'm not, I figure if Trump wins the presidency I will be spending a good deal of my TV news listening time over the next four years hitting the mute button.

  At 9:05 a.m. ET futures are significantly higher and the price of oil per barrel is up. The market is poised to open higher.

  The stock market is rolling, boiling, percolating. The DOW is at 18,372 and that is something. Investors are liking the corporate reports, and people want in. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Line is the operator of a Japanese messaging app that's popular in Thailand, Indonesia, Taiwan and Japan. Line shares will begin trading in New York on Thursday, and then in Tokyo on Friday, in the largest public offering by a tech company this year.
