Good morning. It is 75 degrees and sunny here in the Upper Hudson Valley. The forecast predicts that the temperature will be in the 80s this afternoon and that we will get thunderstorms as well. It's very dry around here, we really need some good rain. I hope you had a good weekend. The national news is continues to be disconcerting, especially with this horrific shooting in Baton Rouge. It's hard looking at the pictures of these police officers who were murdered, they all had reasonable lives, probably tried their very best. We are seeing extraordinary upheavals almost on a daily basis.
At 8:50 a.m. ET futures are modestly higher and the price of oil per barrel is down. The market is poised to open higher.
The indexes are on a roll. The DOW is in record territory and that could continue; clearly corporate reports are strong. Oil is backing down, now regularly trading in the $45 per barrel area.

Is the steam out of the oil market? Seems maybe. Gas prices are falling here again and now down in the $1.90's. NJ though is going to tag on a 23 cent increase in it's gas tax soon to fund the broken Transportation fund. The pols basically looted it by under funding and using credit. So now is the reckoning. NJ is a mess.
I think the steam is out for now. I don't think we will see high oil prices for some time maybe not ever actually.
