The Market On Friday

Good morning. It is 81 degrees, humid as all hell, and sunny here in the Upper Hudson Valley. The forecast predicts a mostly cloudy day with temperatures in the 90s. Dang, it's hot. Well, there we have it, another horrendous attack, this one in Nice, France. 84 people are dead as a result of a truck with driver intentionally plowing into a crowd. The modern style of murder is here, crazed people choose a very soft target, someplace where people congregate out of ease and freedom, and then the crazed person commits mass murder. How do we protect ourselves from that?

At 9:00 a.m. ET, futures are modestly higher and the price of oil per barrel is up. The Market is poised to open modestly higher.

There is a distinct feeling of pause to the market this morning. Besides the horrific attack in France, data out of China is not astounding; the data is however slightly better than expected. The weekend is here, the market was boiling earlier this week, enjoy your good fortune.
