Yes, the current exhaustion is a factor and we just want to get back to our lives. But we are accepting of politicians being dishonest as long as they "bring home the bacon" in some form. In that way, we are complicit.
With the Dems taking both seats in Georgia, Trump will be prosecuted. Count on it. Biden can now install an A.G. who will take Trump on full force. Biden no longer has to worry about his choice being approved by Mitch McConnell.
It's great that the Biden will have an easier time getting his appointments approved. But passing major legislation is another thing altogether. McConnell will keep his soldiers in strict formation and the Dems will have to figure out how to vote as one voice or get very little passed.
As far as prosecution of Tr**p, I'd love to see a rash of civil lawsuits. But Merrick Garland going after Tr**p - as much as it's the right thing to do - will be rocket fuel for Tr**pism moving forward.
