The far right is about Kultur War a term that is much broader then just economic or political differences. They are a TOTALITARIAN threat their ideology is basically XIAN Nationalism wedded to Authoritarianism. Each iteration of this movement ( bowel movement) is different and shape shifts to fit it's particular kultur. The Russian version grafts Russian Orthodoxy as it's religious core to the remnants of the old Soviet security State ( the KGB / FSB) and it doesn't have a particular economic or political / economic philosophy like Marxism or Capitalism. It mixes elements of both systems according to the needs of the autocrat that runs the place. What they all have in common though is a hatred for democracy and western liberal values. This is why trump and his followers like Putin and see him as their ally while the rest of us see Russia as a deadly threat and National adversary no.1. It's why they hated the Mueller investigation. In their view the closer to Russia/Putin we are the better. In a more general sense they like Dictatorships and want one here with Trump as the Dictator. This is really at the center of their inability to accept any other outcome in the past election then one where Trump wins in a landslide. Simply put they do not accept the Dems. as a legitimate political entity and see nothing wrong with tossing the votes of those folks they hate. This is why so many of the lawsuits were aimed at largely black and brown areas of the country in swing states.
The National consensus has splintered again. We are in a Luke warm Civil War that just has its first formal battle on Jan. 6th. The Dems. have to demand acceptance for Biden's legitimacy or toss the Reptrumplican seditionists from the Congress. If not we are in an extremely unstable Union.

We owe a major debt of gratitude to Stacey Abrams because she ramped up the vote in Georgia for the Dems. That gave us the Senate for 2 years. A lot is riding on this next two years and as we know the GOP is praying for disaster. Simultaneously the GOP in red states is doing their thing to suppress the vote. Just look at what their trying to do in Arizona where their state legislature could change the results of an election any time they want. It's very fascist activity. The feel is so tremendously different from 2008. Obama coming into power was celebratory an dit should have been like that now except we're in the middle of the Covid pandemic and in the middle of the QAnon/GOP/white supremacist pandemic. It's a tough time to make sense of it all, to say the least.

Yes, Stacey is brilliant and her movement is how we need to proceed. Our problem is the other side hates democracy and sees any widening of it a deadly threat to it's already unfair and manifestly undemocratic share of power. To that end they only see democracy as a means to an end which is an authoritarian state dominated by an autocrat or dictator. They have no use for multi-party democracy. If this all sounds familiar its because it is. Many of these kinds of regimes exist on Earth today and have existed all through history. For most of human history we have been ruled by Alpha males and females through regimes that vested almost all the power directly in their hands. Kings, Emperors, Dictators are everywhere in our 200K history as modern humans. This struggle is an ongoing one in human society and we can never rest easy in periods when we seem have to defeated these people. We won this fall but our hold on power is extremely fragile. America is NOT in a good place right now. Biden and the Dems. have a small window to fix things and move forward the ? is will they use it.
