The Market On Monday

Good morning. It is 42 degrees and overcast here in the Upper Hudson Valley. Rain is predicted and it looks like the prediction also includes temperatures above freezing through the week. We shall see about that. Regardless last week's huge snow storm just prior to Thanksgiving Day is about 65% gone. The grass has reappeared and only the high piles from the plows and drifts are left to melt away. I hope you had a good weekend and have finally settled down after over eating on Thanksgiving. When will we learn and oh yea, hey it's December 1st! Time is flying.

At 8:50 a.m. ET futures are moderately lower and the price of oil per barrel continues to tumble. The market is poised to open lower.

Lots of cranky world economic news this morning with the ruble going through contortions, Japan getting dropped a notch in it's credit rating, gold losing in value...Take comfort, the world still remains whole and revolving around the sun...

CNN: Stocks: 6 things to know before the open
Oil is tumbling again in the wake of OPEC's decision last week not to cut production to soak up a supply glut created by weaker world demand, strong U.S. output and quota-busting by some of the cartel's members.
