The Market On Tuesday

Good morning. It is 35 degrees and raining here in the Upper Hudson Valley. Rain is expected through Thursday with the temperatures gradually rising into the 50s by Christmas Day. That is a warm Christmas not a white Christmas. Many in this area have forgotten what the Sun looks like, it's been a while since we've had a direct sighting. We see that North Korea lost it's global internet connection for 9 hours. Real tragedy there...

At 8:50 a.m. ET futures are moderately higher and the price of oil per barrel is higher. The market is poised to open higher.

The US third quarter GDP was just revised to a whopping 5%. That's unreal. Oil in my opinion still remains the elephant in the room. The oil glut appears to be in full blossom with oil now running between $54 and $56 a barrel.

The Census Bureau will also announce new home sales data from November at 10 a.m. ET. The data missed expectations in October.
