There is ample proof that between the election in Nov. 2020 and Jan. 6th Trum and his associates developed a detailed set of plans to do just what Rep. Raskin contends he did on that day. This wasn't some last minute hairbrained scheme it was a carefully planned operation that included members of his Admin. , Gov't employees and Congress people. It fell apart ONLY because VP Mike Pence wouldn't go along with it and Trump was hoping the lynch mob he sent to Capitol Hill that day would convince him to go along OR ELSE. The brought a small gallows with his name attached to make the point and the mob chanted for Pence's blood when he refused to do Trump's and their bidding. In reality, we came very close to a Coup that day much closer then most people realize. Had Pence thrown the election back to Congress to decide who knows where that would have ended? Having lived through The BV$H2 v. Gore fiasco 20 yrs. earlier I wasn't confident Biden was going to prevail. He did but the Insurrection that day wasn't just against Joe Biden and the Gov't it was more seriously against democracy itself. The gQPutin has since that fateful day passed over 400 laws and regulation nationwide further restricting voting rights and worse. The sad truth is we now ONLY have one party of the two dedicated to democracy. The reality is the GqPUtin doesn't consider the Dems. a legitimate party anymore and therefore will say and do whatever it takes to take back power and this time keep it.

Glenn, I think that 2024 is going to make 2022 look like a cake walk, especially politically in America. Not sure where Covid is going but as of this morning, the stock market is tanking on fears of a Beijing Covid lockdown. What does that tell us, that Covid is not over. Then there's Ukraine, which is a growing disaster. And meanwhile nobody's doing a whole lot to tackle the main issue of global warming. The GQP has truly lost the thread with what America is all about. They've cultivated supporters who are laser focused on regressive matters of sexuality, religion, and the big one, immigration, with a massive sense of entitlement, violence, and win at all costs attitude. The next GQP president will put the finishing touches on an already degraded democracy. Perhaps individual states can somehow assume the responsibility of at least protecting statewide voting, I'm talking about blue states. Federal voting will be like voting in Russia, support what is thrown at you, or don't bother to show up.
